Beginning our Club Year here in Palomar District.
Palomar District Here in Palomar, we are more than just a part of a statewide or national organization. We are a community of women’s clubs across North San Diego County, united under a mission to serve, to learn, to uplift. Our District’s goals are clear and inspiring:- To UNITE, by offering opportunities for members to share ideas—through meetings, fundraisers, our annual District Convention, and the newsletters that connect us.- To PROMOTE both Community Service Projects endorsed by GFWC/CFWC, and best practices for membership—how we recruit, retain, and orient new members. – To OFFER TRAINING—for club management, for leadership, for excellence in how we fulfill our work and report our impact. – To RECOGNIZE accomplishments—through our Arts Festival, our District Convention, through the way we celebrate each other’s achievements. These are not just words. They are the framework that will guide our decisions, our projects, our hard work—and our joys—this year.

These are not just words. They are the framework that will guide our decisions, our projects, our hard work—and our joys—this year.

Connecting District Focus with GFWC / CFWC Priorities
As you know, we are aligned with the wider goals of GFWC and CFWC—towards arts & culture; education & libraries; environment; health & wellness; civic engagement; domestic & sexual violence awareness &prevention; advocacy; community impact. In Palomar District, we will carry these forward in ways that matter locally:- Supporting Domestic & Sexual Violence Awareness & Prevention, offering our volunteers and resources to local shelters, educational programs, and survivors in need. Engaging in Community Impact Projects — those that leave visible, lasting benefit in our neighborhoods, and that grow our membership, our leadership, and our connections with community partners. – Emphasizing Education & Libraries by partnering with schools, supporting reading programs, and promoting the enrichment of knowledge through literacy, STEAM, and library services. – Protecting our Environment, encouraging sustainability in our clubs and communities, unlocking the beauty of our North San Diego landscapes through conservation, cleanup, gardens, and awareness.- Fostering Civic Engagement & Outreach — helping the hungry and homeless, supporting veterans, increasing awareness of public policies, and being a trusted voice in our communities.

What We Need from Each of You To bring all this to life, we rely on you—not just as attendees, but as active participants.
Here’s how you can help make this the best Palomar District year yet: Step Up in Participation: Attend district meetings, get involved in committees, share your ideas and your concerns. – Embrace Training: Whether you are new or experienced, there’s always something to gain—skills in leadership, reporting, club management, membership strategies. – Share Your Stories and Celebrate Others: Recognize good work happening in your club or neighborhood; nominate or highlight it in our District bulletins, at the Arts Festival, at the Convention. – Reach Out & Grow: Bring in new members, mentor them, help them feel connected. The strength of Palomar is in the diversity and dedication of its clubs and people. – Lead with Heart & Vision: For those in leadership roles, dare to be bold; for everyone, strive to serve with compassion, integrity, and hope.

Looking Forward with Hope As we move through the year, I see opportunities ahead: gathering at our District Convention; seeing clubs launch new community impact projects; sharing in training workshops; cheering for members at our Arts Festival; growing our network and deepening our outreach. Let us measure success not only in numbers, but in lives touched, friendships formed, hope restored, and communities improved. There will be challenges—time, resources, competing demands—but I believe in the unique power of Palomar District. Our shared passion, talent, and perseverance can and will make a difference. We are here not just to serve, but to shine—together.

So today, as we begin this new year, I ask each of you: 1. Pick one priority that calls to you—whether it is domestic violence prevention, environmental action, supporting education, or another area—and commit yourself to contributing in that area. 2. Invite someone new to a meeting or service project—share what Palomar District means to you, and help expand our circle. 3. Invest in your own growth. Attend a training, read some of the materials shared, mentor someone, or step into a small leadership role—even if it scares you a bit. Growth often begins outside our comfort zones.

Thank you—all of you—for your commitment, your energy, your faith in what we can accomplish together.

Thank you to all our club presidents, our chairs, our volunteers.
Thank you especially to those who often work behind the scenes: organizing, planning, encouraging. As we launch this year under the banner of Strength United Is Stronger, let us make Palomar District a beacon of service, compassion, creativity, and impact.

Let us unite, promote, train, and recognize—lifting up each other and our communities. Here’s to a year of heart, hope, purpose—and results. Welcome to the year ahead. Let’s make it our best yet.
