MEMBERSHIP AWARDS

RESPONSIBILITIES

The 2nd Vice President is a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Board & Executive Committee (voting member).

Bylaws, Article III, Section 3c – In the absence of the President and the First Vice-President, shall perform the duties of the President. She shall serve as Federation/ Membership Chairman.

1.  Take over for the President and First Vice President in their absence.

2.  Membership Chairman (refer to Chairman’s Procedures and Forms)

3.  Responsible for all report writing (Membership Activities)

4.  Keep a list of all Club Membership Chairmen

5.  Hold informational workshops (membership)

6.  Write an article for each of the 4 issues of the Palomar Telescope Newsletter

7.  Appear on the agenda (Report on her activities)

8.  Prepares and coordinates the awards and award certificates to be presented at the annual convention. (1)  Perfect Member Attendance at District Meetings); (2)  Highest % of Club Attendance at District Meetings (Silver Tray is the perpetual award); (3) Highest % of Gain of Club membership; (4) Rookie of the Year; (5) Woman of the Year

Note:  Contact the Treasurer for New Member Dues payments and the Hostess Club for Meeting Attendees & Convention Chairman for Convention Attendees.

10.  Honors First Attendees at each meeting (momento)

11.  Produces Bulletins regarding membership ideas.

12.  Writes the District Membership Report

13.  Receives application for new clubs.  After investigation, she forwards application to the Executive Board for approval and Board of Directors for ratification; the majority vote of those present shall elect the club to members.  Upon approval, she shall sent the application to the State 2nd Vice President.

14.  Any club requesting to resign, sends the paperwork to the District President, who in turn will send a copy to the 2nd Vice President/Membership Chairman
